The documentation is made available under the diploma that defines the general regime of archives and archival assets (Decree-Law no. 16/93, of 23 January, amendment: Law no. 14/94, of 11 May) and of Law no. . 26/2016, of August 22, Law on access to administrative and environmental information and reuse of administrative documents.

Documents containing personal data are not available, according to the Protection of Personal Data Law (Law nº 67/98, of October 26). Personal data are only available if 30 years have elapsed since the date of death of the persons to whom the documents relate or, if this date is not known, 40 years have elapsed since the date of the documents (Article 17, paragraph 2 of Decree-Law no. 16/93, of January 23, General regime of archives and archival heritage, altered by Article 44, Law no. 26/2016, 22nd August).

In case of re-use of archival information, this should be done under the Law no. 26/2016 , of August 22, which regulates access to administrative and environmental information and reuse of administrative documents.

The Science and Technology Archive complies with the General Regulation on Data Protection (RGPD) . The re-use of the archived information consulted shall respect the purposes stated in this form and any re-use shall be the responsibility of the applicant.
